USS MAKIN ISLAND , Pacific Ocean (April 14, 2017) U.S. Marine ordnance technicians with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), ensure a BDU-45 inert practice bomb is properly secured onto an AV-8B Harrier as part of a bilateral training exercise conducted with Malaysia, April 14. Ordnance technicians must know to maintain and load ordnance for the AV-8B Harrier, MV-22 Osprey, UH-1Y Huey and AH-1Z Cobra, all of the MEU’s aircraft. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group/11th MEU is currently deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations in support of regional security and stability. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
