Staff Sgt. Herrier, 821st Contingency Response Squadron defender, takes the pulse of a simulated aircraft accident victim during a March 9, 2017 major accident response exercise at Travis Air Force Base, Calif. The training was developed to help first responders improve their abilities to work under extreme stress and provide life-saving care during large-scale disasters. Fire fighters and medical care providers from local communities also participated in the exercise, which helped foster better working relationships and improved processes.
