TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. (July 21, 2025) — More than 300 Airmen from the 349th Medical Group participated in Medical Rising, a three-day field exercise at Travis Air Force Base, California June 5-7, 2025. The exercise simulated medical operations in an austere, Indo-Pacific-type environment, challenging medics to adapt, think critically, and perform under pressure to maintain readiness for real-world missions. The 349th Air Mobility Wing celebrates its 81st Birthday on Oct. 23, at Travis Air Force Base, California. The wingâs predecessor unit the 349th Troop Carrier Group was established on Oct. 23, 1943, at Sedalia Army Airfield, Missouri. In 1969, the wing moved to its current location at Travis AFB.
