BAGHDAD -- Staff Sgt. Deborah Ryan (right) from Freeland, Pa., talks with her counterpart in the Royal Marine Corps Band from Great Britain July 4 at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. Ryan, a 20-year military veteran, plays clarinet with the 4th Infantry Division Band and its specialty group, the Iron Crawdads brass ensemble. The 4th Inf. Div. and Royal Marine bands and the were invited to play for the independence day holiday, which included a ceremony featuring high-profile guests His Excellency Jalal Talabini, president of the Republic of Iraq, U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Dr. Zalmay Khalilzad and General George William Casey, Jr., commander, Multi-National Forces-Iraq.
