    U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATION, USS Somerset (Feb. 11, 2017) U.S. Navy Petty Officer Second Class Jonathan Brusherd (right), a special amphibious reconnaissance corpsman (SARC), Sgt. Jeffery Burgstaller (center), and Cpl. A SARC can perform paramedical skills, basic life support, minor surgical procedures, and emergency medical health care procedures as required.
