A group of people are gathered around a table in what appears to be a banquet hall or restaurant, where a large whole tuna fish has been placed on a cutting board. A woman in a black dress is touching the fish while another person photographs it with a smartphone. The setting suggests a formal event, likely a tuna cutting ceremony (maguro kaitai show), a traditional Japanese presentation.

Guests admire a gargantuan tuna at a tuna-cutting party Oct. 15 on Marine Corps Air Station Futenma, Okinawa, Japan. “The purpose of the party is to enjoy our friendship and time together with the city of Ginowan and the Marines,” said Col. Peter Lee, commanding officer of MCAS Futenma. Approximately 200 participants came to enjoy the party, where they were able to watch a sushi chef prepare a freshly-caught tuna.
