(May 26, 2016) - Gunners Mate 1st Class Matthew Conner, stationed aboard Naval Support Activity Panama City (NSAPC) armory, renders a hand salute after presenting the flag to Operations Specialist 1st Class James England, stationed with NSAPC port operations, whom will retire the flag. NSAPC personnel gathered for a flag retirement ceremony, where a National Ensign that was deemed no longer fit to be displayed, was control burned in a dignified way. The Sailors chose today, the start of Memorial Day weekend, to burn the flag to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
