160526-N-TI693-016 NAVAL SUPPORT ACTIVITY PANAMA CITY Fla. (May 26, 2016) - Gunners Mate 1st Class Matthew Conner, stationed aboard Naval Support Activity Panama City (NSAPC) armory, holds a National Ensign that will be retired to his chest after the folding was completed. NSAPC personnel gathered for a flag retirement ceremony, where a National Ensign that was deemed no longer fit to be displayed, was control burned in a dignified way. The Sailors chose today, the start of Memorial Day weekend, to burn the flag to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
