Sergeant Michael A. Tooley, drill instructor, Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, yells at a recruit for not knowing the answer to a knowledge question during a series commander inspection at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Dec. 28. The inspections can be stressful and recruits tend to forget the answers to the knowledge questions. Recruits reinforce knowledge with their drill instructors on a daily basis to help them remember important facts. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Fox Company is scheduled to graduate Jan. 29.
