151001-N-UY393-073 SAN DIEGO (Oct. 1, 2015) – Seaman Michelle Galvan, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), uses a power sander while doing preservation in underway replenishment station 3. America is currently undergoing a post-shakedown availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ship’s design.
