150930-N-VR008-008 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 30, 2015) – Aviation Machinist’s Mate 1st Class Harry Lee and Aviation Machinist’s Mate 1st Class Franklin Abril perform annual visual inspection of helicopter blade slings in the Air Machine Shop aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America is currently undergoing a post-shakedown availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ship’s design. America’s PSA will pave the way for future America-class amphibious assault ships. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist Seaman Kyle Goldberg/Released)
