150930-N-VR008-021 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 30, 2015) – Fireman Rolando Salazgoddard removes floor grating to inspect and clean a shaft alley aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6). America is currently undergoing a post-shakedown availability (PSA) in which the ship’s crew and assigned contractors make improvements to the ship’s design.
