During a Sept. 8, 2015, tour of the U.S. Army Japan’s Training Support Center in Sagami Depot, Japan, Bryan K. Zechman (right), training support officer, U.S. Army Japan, holds a 1:1 scale model replica of an improvised explosive device commonly worn by suicide bombers in Iraq and Afghanistan. Zechman explained to his Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Reserve Component guests that the hundreds of props, models and dummies stored at the Training Support Center help USARJ facilitate realistic training scenarios for Soldiers participating in simulated patrols, ambushes, emergencies and casualty evacuations.
