Army Col. Timothy M. Snyder, director, Army Reserve Engagement Team-Japan (ARET-J), explains the “shoot, move, communicate, medicate” doctrine to Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) Reserve Component candidates, Sept. 8, 2015, at U.S. Army Japan’s (USARJ) Training Support Center in Sagami Depot, Japan. Snyder emphasized that, regardless of their rank and specialty, all service members should know how to use their assigned weapon(s), move as a team, communicate effectively, and treat their wounded comrades. Snyder and his ARET-J team members invited their JGSDF Reserve Component components to the Training Support Center to learn more about USARJ’s mission, capabilities and facilities as well as promote esprit de corps between the two allied armies.
