Army Col. Timothy M. Snyder, director, Army Reserve Engagement Team-Japan (ARET-J), provides an overview of the history, missions, people and capabilities of the U.S. Army Reserve to a group of Japan Ground Self-Defense Reserve Component (JGSDF-RC) candidates Sept. 8, 2015, at Camp Zama, Japan. Snyder and his ARET-J team members invited their JGSDF-RC counterparts to Camp Zama so they may learn more about the Army Reserve’s role in supporting the bilateral partnership between the JGSDF and U.S. Army. ARET-J also facilitated a tour of the Training Support Center at Sagami Depot that included a series of weapons familiarization sessions inside the Engagement Skills Trainer 2000, a computer-generated system that simulates modern land warfare engagements using movie studio quality props, graphics, lighting and sound effects.
