TRADEWINDS is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored, combined, joint, exercise designed to expand our regional capability to mitigate, plan for, and respond to crises; improve readiness; develop new and refine existing standard operating procedures; enhance ability to defend exclusive economic zones; promote human rights; fully integrate women into the force; and increase maritime domain awareness to deter illegal fishing activities.<br /> <br /> The 40th iteration of TRADEWINDS will be held in Trinidad and co-hosted by the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force.
