Sgt. Matthew Dickson, the noncommissioned officer in charge of the mobile blood drive team for the Robertson Blood Center, drips with sweat as he completes tasks on Combat Trauma Lane 1, May 1. The lane was one of three that candidates had to complete in order to earn the Expert Field Medical Badge. During a week of rigorous testing, candidates also had to complete a written test, a day and night land navigation course, and a 12-mile road march.
