Sgt. David Davis, a dental specialist with the Fort Hood Dental Activity, reassembles an M16 rifle during Expert Field Medical Badge certification May 1 on Fort Hood, Texas. During the certification, 261 candidates from military installations across the country spent two weeks in the field testing on various medical and warrior tasks in an effort to earn the prestigious badge. The EFMB is open to all soldiers and officers in the medical corps and is one of the toughest badges to earn. Out of the 261 candidates who underwent the rigorous testing, only Davis and 43 others were successful in earning the badge.
