Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Charleston (LCS 18), part of Destroyer Squadron Seven, is on a rotational deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operation to enhance interoperability with partners and serve as a ready-response force in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific region. SINGAPORE – Sailors from Commander, Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 7 gathered to observe a Black History Month Celebration, Feb. 26. During the event, Sailors participated in a trivia challenge about notable Black figures, enjoyed a potluck lunch and discussed the impact of Black history on each other’s lives.
