      Chief Master Sgt. Anthony Harvey, security forces manager with the 164th Mission Support Group, 164th Airlift Wing, at Memphis Air National Guard Base, Tenn., talks about involvement by Air Force security forces Airmen in the Fort McCoy Cold-Weather Operations Course and about training at Fort McCoy, Wis. Harvey was a student in the course in 2020, and observed a course class in February 2021. Students in the course are trained on a variety of cold-weather subjects, including snowshoe training and skiing as well as how to use ahkio sleds and other gear. Training also focuses on terrain and weather analysis, risk management, cold-weather clothing, developing winter fighting positions in the field, camouflage and concealment, and numerous other areas that are important to know in order to survive and operate in a cold-weather environment.       Victor Rivera is an United States Air Force veteran and the creator of the "Battle Buddy" keychain. He was medically retired in 2012 after being diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma.After undergoing chemotherapy and treatments for his lymphoma, Victor started making paracord bracelets with the authentic military uniform button. He gave these bracelets out to nurses and other patients. The bracelets eventually evolved into a paracord person key chain now known as the "Battle Buddy." Making these bracelets and keychains is now a form of therapy for Victor. He says it seems to be the only way he can forget his pain.
