U.S. Army Sgt. Jonah Moiser, a unit supply specialist assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, applies a tourniquet to a simulated casualty during the medical lane on day three of the five-day Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 9, 2026. After identifying a friendly casualty, competitors must quickly recognize and control life-threatening bleeding, reinforcing the importance of decisive action and proper tourniquet application during the early stages of casualty care. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies. V Corps is operationalizing and expanding the Eastern Flank Deterrence Initiative with Allies, rapidly integrating emerging technologies into training and tactical plans. (U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
