    U.S. Army Spc. RaNiya Corbin, a corrections and detention specialist assigned to the 603rd Military Police Company, 109th Military Police Battalion, leads the way over an obstacle while carrying a medical litter during day three of the five-day Dark Knight competition held at Ādaži Military Base, Latvia, Sept. 9, 2026. The competitors were challenged to communicate, coordinate their movements and maintain control of the simulated casualty, reinforcing the teamwork and attention to patient safety required to move wounded personnel through unpredictable environments. V Corps is the U.S. Army's only forward-deployed corps, serving as the senior tactical headquarters for Army forces in Eastern Europe to deter conflict and provide combat-ready forces alongside our NATO Allies.
