Teresa Gutierrez, 163d Regional Training Site instructor, California Air National Guard, trains a group of water and fuel systems maintenance Airmen from the 146th Civil Engineer Squadron on Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Unit operations during a week-long training at the site, March Air Reserve Base, Calif., Aug. 25, 2026. The exercise places civil engineers in an environment where they establish, operate, and defend a temporary encampment under simulated combat conditions, allowing Airmen to learn and test critical career-field skills.
