A trail winds along the forest floor under a canopy of giant trees in the Quinault Rain Forest of Olympic National Forest, Washington, Aug. 16, 2026. The Quinault National Recreation Trail System offers visitors views of towering conifers and lush rain forest vegetation. Trails provide excellent year-round viewing of ancient Sitka spruce, Douglas fir and western red cedar on the south shore of Lake Quinault.
