A U.S service member from the Special Operations Command North Signal Detachment trains Alaska National Guard Soldiers and police to use Barrett 4050 radio communications in Savoonga, St. Lawerence Island, Alaska, Aug. 14, 2026. SOCNORTH partnered with the Alaska National Guard, the Alaska State Defense Force and Alaska Native leaders to reestablish a high-frequency radio network during Operation Polar Dagger.
