A U.S. Coast Guard Maritime Security Response Team (MSRT) West member and a Peruvian military service member maintain security in the engine room of a target vessel during a maritime interdiction exercise as part of PANAMAX 2026 at Panama City, Aug. 7, 2026. The combined training strengthened coordination between U.S. and partner forces while enhancing interoperability and regional readiness during maritime security operations. PANAMAX 2026 scenarios help the defense and public security forces of participating nations improve interoperability, hone their skills during scenarios involving coalition and all-domain operations, forge strong cooperative partnerships, and demonstrate their collective capacity to respond to and deter threats to the region and its critical waterways.
