Three partner nation service members board a training vessel as part of a static visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training event with U.S. Marines and U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit 301 (PSU 301) in Panama City, Aug. 5, 2026. The combined training developed shared boarding skills, strengthened interoperability and enhanced regional readiness among participating forces. PANAMAX 2026 scenarios help the defense and public security forces of participating nations improve interoperability, hone their skills during scenarios involving coalition and all-domain operations, forge strong cooperative partnerships, and demonstrate their collective capacity to respond to and deter threats to the region and its critical waterways.
