Republic of Singapore navy sailors ride a rigid-hull inflatable boat during a cross-deck event with the guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald (DDG 62) and the Formidable-class frigate RSS Intrepid (69) during Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Singapore 2013. More than 700 sailors and Marines are participating in CARAT Singapore. U.S. Navy units participating in CARAT Singapore include the Fitzgerald, the littoral combat ship USS Freedom (LCS 1), Military Sealift Command's Lewis and Clark-class dry cargo ship USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE 11), a U.S. Marine Corps platoon assigned to 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, and Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 7 staff, serving as Commander Task Force 73.1 and CARAT Commander.
