Army combat medics (68W) assigned to the 181st Medical Company (Area Support), 3678th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, secure and prepare a simulated casualty for evacuation alongside a flight medic during a medical evacuation exercise at Camp Santiago Joint Training Center, Salinas, Puerto Rico, July 27, 2026. Working as an integrated evacuation team, the medics assessed the patient, completed final packaging procedures and prepared the casualty for transport aboard a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. The training strengthened proficiency in tactical combat casualty care, patient movement and air-ground medical coordination, enhancing readiness for real-world casualty evacuation missions.
