GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba (May 26, 2026) – Contractors, under guidance by Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command Southeast, construct a monofil area on the grounds of a previous legacy scrap tire storage area aboard Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The monofil was part of a $3.6 million project to remove over 58,000 tires and 1,200 pieces of High-Density Polyethylene from the site, transforming a legacy disposal site into a functional footprint of the installation.
