U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class, Joshua Plante, grabs the ends of the U.S. flag, preparing to fold it during end-of-day procedures at the Sicily-Rome American Cemetery prior to beginning disinterments for the day, Nettuno, Italy, June 24, 2026. This year, short term individual augmentees for the Europe disinterments are supported almost entirely by members of the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) marking a special collaborative effort with the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency.
