Capt. David Ayuso, 8th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, chokes 1st Sgt. Michael Vacanti, Regimental Field Artillery Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, during their final match at the Phantom Warrior Combatives Invitational II on June 5, 2026, at Warrior Way Fitness Center at Fort Hood, Texas. Ayuso won the match, winning the light heavyweight bracket for the evening. Over 50 individuals competed in the invitational. The top competitors of this event will compete against the top competitors of the previous combatives invitational in a showdown this August.
