U.S. Air Force Airmen from the 435th Air Ground Operations Wing salute as part of a joint formation at the C-47 Monument in Picauville, France, June 2, 2026. The 435 AGOW has direct lineage to the 435th Troop Carrier Group, which navigated the skies where this ceremony was held 82 years ago. The ceremony was a solemn tribute to the IX Troop Carrier Command, the 9th U.S. Army Air Force, and the paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions.
