A unique anatomically correct surgical model (CRICALOT), which was invented by Dr. Richard Levitan, a career emergency room doctor, is used for practicing cricothyrotomy on during an Airway CAM course for military medical personnel at Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, May 18, 2026. The Airway CAM course provides a better understanding of emergency respiratory procedures like the cricothyrotomy and intubation using a video laryngoscope through practice on models developed by Levitan.
