Christopher Alexander, left, who leads unmanned systems integration for Commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, signs official transfer documents placing the prototype Medium Unmanned Surface Vessel Seahawk with Cmdr. Timothy Boston, commanding officer of Unmanned Surface Vessel Squadron (USVRON) 1, during a signing ceremony at Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific, April 14. During the ceremony, which was presided over by Alexander, the vessel was officially transferred from an experimental role with the acquisition community to the operational Fleet.
