NAVAL STATION GREAT LAKES (April 9, 2026) — Surface Warfare Engineering School Command (SWESC) Great Lakes Commanding Officer Cmdr. Quentin Cooper, left, discusses with the Honorable Benjamin C. Kohlmann, Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Manpower and Reserve Affairs (ASN M&RA), on the command's comprehensive logistical training efforts during a visit to the training command, Apr. 9, on board Naval Station Great Lakes. The purpose of Kohlmann's visit is to meet with leadership and assess the current state of innovative instructional methods within the Navy's training pipeline. SWESC is responsible for providing technical training to every surface Navy engineer, quartermaster, boatswain and deck seaman; preparing each Sailor to perform on U.S. Navy ships operating around the globe.
