U.S. Air Force Master Sgt. Dexter Taylor, Communication Officer for Recovery Team 3, part of Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency Joint Field Activity 26-3LA, takes a moment’s reprieve while digging at a recovery site in Laos, March 24, 2026. Material from excavated units are transferred to screening stations where U.S. personnel and local workers search for aircraft wreckage, life support material and possible remains. Taylor is a Short Term Individual Augmentee to DPAA from the 374th Communication Squadron, Camp Zama, Japan. Currently there are 1,566 personnel unaccounted for from the Vietnam War, 280 of those unresolved cases are located in Laos. (U.S. Air Force Photo by Lt. Col. George Tobias)
