Elena Klionsky, the wife of Roman Pipko, the U.S. Ambassador to Estonia, speaks to a U.S. Soldier assigned to 6th Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, during an award ceremony in Estonia on March 12, 2026. The ceremony presented Soldiers with the NATO Kaitsel “Defender” medal, awarded by the Estonian Ministry of Defense and the Estonian Defense League.
