U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Bradford J. Gering, middle right, the 38th Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps, learns about the capabilities and limitations of the Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) from Cpl. Nash Dieter, an anti-tank missileman with 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division assigned to Joint Task Force-Southern Border (JTF-SB), in the San Diego sector, Calif., Feb. 18, 2026. The ISV is designed to provide increased mobility for a light infantry squad and their associated equipment allowing them to reach different sectors of the border in a timely manner. U.S. Northern Command is working side-by-side with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Customs and Border Protection within narrowly defined authorities to provide unique military capabilities to protect the territorial integrity of the U.S. southern border.
