US, Kenya infantrymen conduct joint infantry training during Justified Accord 2026

U.S. Army Pfc. Anthony Indrisano, an infantryman with 1st Battalion, 181st Infantry Regiment, Massachusetts Army National Guard, and a Kenya Defence Forces soldier, identify a zone of fire during Justified Accord 2026 joint infantry exercises at the KDF School of Infantry, Isiolo, Kenya, March 2, 2026. During the training, KDF soldiers applied newly learned tactics by directing portions of the drills alongside U.S. soldiers. The exchange strengthened small-unit tactical proficiency, built mutual trust between partner forces, and enhanced interoperability and operational readiness during joint operations.

JA26 increases multinational interoperability in support of humanitarian assistance and crisis response, prepares regional partners for United Nations and African Union missions and builds readiness for the U.S. joint force. Led by U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and hosted in Djibouti, Kenya, and Tanzania, this year's exercise incorporates personnel from approximately 15 nations. JA26 is U.S. Africa Command's largest exercise in East Africa. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Elijah Harris)
