U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Johnathan Mathis, a 186th Air Refueling Wing heavy equipment operator assigned to Key Field Air National Guard Base out of Meridian, Missi., uses a motor grader to level ground at a training excavation site at Ebbing Air National Guard Base, Fort Smith, Ark., on Feb. 10, 2026. The grading prepared the surface for compaction by rollers as part of hands-on heavy equipment training to enhance mission readiness. Ebbing ANGB is home to the 188th Civil Engineering Regional Training Site which supports hands-on training for Airmen to gain practical experience in building and assembling expeditionary structures to support contingency operations.
