    III Marine Expeditionary Force   

    The San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS San Diego (LPD 22) conducts routine operations off of the coast of Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 2, 2026. U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Robert Brodie, commanding general of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, visited the USS San Diego to observe the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit conduct routine amphibious combat vehicle operations. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
