Veterans and Todd Steelman, USACE Baltimore District Ordnance and Explosives Safety Specialist, cut, grind, and package meat during the annual Family Traditional Butchering event at Hyner Lodge Foundation. The event continues a family tradition practiced by foundation founder Donald Koch's grandfather and father, bringing together approximately 80 veterans for traditional butchering of one steer and three hogs. At the end of the event, participants take home their share of the meat. "This is one of the several events that we do that truly is one that they just absolutely love," Koch said. "And they continue asking us to continue it year after year." (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers photo)
