WEST BETHESDA, Md. (June 24, 2025) – Teams from UC San Diego, University of Washington, and École de Technologie Supérieure, enter the water at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division's David Taylor Model Basin as they prepare for the 18th International Submarine Races (ISR 18) on June 24, 2025. The ISR serve as a real-world crucible for aspiring naval engineers providing hands-on problem-solving opportunities in a unique competition that develops critical domestic, scientific, and engineering talent for the Navy and America’s Maritime Industrial Base. Carderock, the Navy’s ship design and innovation powerhouse provides the technical foundation for the future fleet through world-class research, development, and testing.
