SAN DIEGO, Ca. (Dec. 5, 2025) - Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, left, promotes Lt. Brian Beall, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Sampson (DDG 102) to the rank of Lt. Cmdr. during a visit to the ship Dec. 5. In addition to participating in the promotion ceremony, while aboard Sampson, McLane spoke with command leadership about the ship's recent operations and recognized Sailors for their accomplishments with challenge coins.
