Fort Bragg, NC — A U.S. Army officer and a German Armed Forces Sgt. Maj. prepare medals for the award ceremony of a recent German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (GAFPB) competition. The GAFPB medals, with varying colors i.e., gold, silver, and bronze determined by each soldier’s level of performance, symbolize and recognize the culmination of the soldiers’ hard work and determination to complete series of challenging events, including a physical fitness test, ruck march, water survival event, and marksmanship exercise. This collaboration, and others like it, highlights the enduring partnership and camaraderie between US, German, and allied armed forces. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Brandon M. Badder)
