Fort Bragg, NC — Civil Affairs soldiers, participating in a recent German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (GAFPB) award competition, observe a virtual pistol range orientation in preparation for a weapons qualification. This exercise, a requirement to obtain a GAFPB, challenges participants to demonstrate their small arms marksmanship. The GAFPB is a challenging physical and mental exercise, open to allied and US servicemembers, and administered by a German Armed Forces commander; it consists of a physical fitness test, ruck march, water survival event, and marksmanship exercise. This collaboration, and others like it, highlights the enduring partnership and camaraderie between US, German, and allied armed forces. (U.S. Army photo by Pfc. Guinevere Honaker)
