SAN DIEGO (Oct. 23, 2025) – U.S. Navy Capt. Brian Schrum provides a speech during change-of-command ceremony aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), Oct. 23, 2025. Schrum turned over command to Capt. William Mathis during the ceremony, held on Theodore Roosevelt’s flight deck. Theodore Roosevelt, flagship of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9, is underway conducting exercises to bolster strike group readiness and capability in the U.S. 3rd Fleet area of operations.
