U.S. Army medical personnel from the 65th Medical Brigade, assigned to Camp Humphreys, offload patient role-players from a Field Litter Ambulance (FLA) at Busan Storage Center (BSC), Pier 5, during a Medical Evacuation Live Exercise in South Korea Sept. 17, 2025. The patients were prepared for Role 2 surgical care, which consists of mobile, lifesaving surgical interventions to stabilize casualties before movement to higher levels of care. The Medical Evacuation Live Exercise was a joint mass casualty drill simulating a coordinated response to injuries resulting from combat scenarios ranging from Pyeongtaek to Busan, South Korea, involving personnel from Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea (CNFK), HM-15, and the 65th Medical Brigade to enhance readiness and interoperability. CNFK is the U.S. Navy’s representative in the Republic of Korea, providing leadership and expertise in naval matters to improve institutional and operational effectiveness between the two navies and to strengthen collective security efforts in Korea and the region.
