A U.S. Air Force F-15E Strike Eagle assigned to the 492nd Fighter Squadron, RAF Lakenheath, prepares to travel down the active runway to catch a Mobile Aircraft Arresting System for a barrier certification test at RAF Mildenhall, England, Sept. 12, 2025. Airmen and civilians from the 100th Civil Engineer Squadron Power Production shop regularly test the MAAS and annually conduct certification testing of the aircraft arresting system, which is designed to safely stop and aircraft that is experiencing an in-flight emergency and cannot land without causing damage.
